Aseara, cei de la Apple au lansat in App Store versiunea 1.3 a aplicatiei iBooks, o versiune care aduce noutati exclusiv pentru utilizatorii din Japonia. Alaturi de aceasta lansare, Apple a publicat pe propriul website si un comunicat de presa prin care anunta lansarea iBookstore in Japonia, oferindu-le utilizatorilor din aceasta tara carti de la cateva edituri importante si de la autori ca Shyotaro Ikenami, Jiro Akagawa, Atsuko Asano sau Ryu Murakami. Totodata, Apple a anuntat prin acest comunicat ca aplicatia iBooks pentru iPhone, iPad si iPod touch a fost descarcata de 130 de milioane de ori, vorbind numai despre descarcari unice, nu si despre redescarcari sau update-uri. Aceasta cifra este destul de impresionanta avand in vedere faptul ca aplicatia a fost lansata in 2010, de atunci primind mai multe update-uri, dintre care ultimul major, versiunea 3.0 a fost lansat la conferinta de prezentare a iPad mini din toamna anului trecut.

Apple isi arata un interes tot mai mare pentru utilizatorii din Asia, avandu-i acum in centrul atentiei pe cei din Japonia carora le-au dedicat in mare parte prima versiune beta a iOS 6.1.1 (transformata ulterior in iOS 6.1.3 beta 2), dar si versiunea 3.1 a iBooks. Printre cele 51 de tari in care este disponibil iBookstore-ul se afla si Romania.

Apple Launches iBookstore in Japan

TOKYO―March 6, 2013―Apple® today announced the launch of the iBookstore℠ in Japan featuring titles from major and independent publishers, including a great selection of books from Kodansha, KADOKAWA, Bungeishunju, Gakken and Gentosha. The iBookstore has a wide selection of emerging and established authors including Shyotaro Ikenami, Jiro Akagawa, Atsuko Asano and Ryu Murakami. The iBookstore in Japan is the best way for book lovers to browse, buy and read books on iPhone®, iPad® and iPod touch®.

iBookstore customers can choose from a wide selection of enhanced books that look incredible on iPad, as well as digitally exclusive titles including Ryu Murakami’s fiction novels “At the Airport,” “Exodus of Middle-School Students” and “I’ll Always Be With You, Always,” which has interactive emails in each chapter to bring you even deeper into the story.
